Tyler was born and raised in Southeast Georgia but has been a proud member of the Frederick, Maryland community since 2002.
Graduating from Baltimore School of Massage in 2004, Tyler went on to complete his Associate of Arts degree in Therapeutic Massage from Frederick Community College graduating with High Honors. Since that time, Tyler has continuously engaged in educational growth, acquiring over 500 hours of combined specialized training in Craniosacral Therapy,Visceral Manipulation, and Neural Manipulation alone!
After two years serving as an Instructor at the Central Maryland School of Massage, Tyler shifted his full-time private practice to offering an exclusive and unique blend of Osteopathic manual therapy. He is one of few (if not the only) practitioner within a 100-mile radius to possess the depth of training and the unique combination of these modalities.
He is well known in the community and has a a devoted client base who continues to reap the benefits from his passion for learning.
Tyler was influenced early on in his life as health and wellness was strongly valued within his family. His mother was a personal trainer and his brother followed in those same footsteps. While training, nutrition, and fitness became an integral part of his life, Tyler's path was also influenced by his father who was diagnosed with MS at an early age. This heightened Tyler's awareness and empathy for those who suffer with chronic and debilitating diseases. He also developed an acute awareness (and curiosity) around the connection between the neural and muscular systems after observing the symptomatic relief his father experienced from a local Nutritionist/Massage Therapist who treated him with amazing results.
Tyler's passion is about more than just helping people feel better for a day or two after each session. He sees himself as an educator and a support system. His focus is to trigger the body to do what it is designed to do and is inspired by results which improve the quality of life for his clients. He reinforces in-session treatment with resources around training, nutrition, sleep, recovery, and stress management.
After 18 years of practice (and counting) Tyler continues to build upon his technical understanding of the human body and incorporates new learnings into treatment plans for his clients. With a base of operation in Frederick, he serves clients in and around the DC/Baltimore Metro area and beyond.
When not in the office, Tyler serves as a Teaching Assistant for classes run by the Upledger and Barral Institutes, and recently launched a mid-Maryland region study group for other practitioners seeking to incorporate Visceral Manipulation into their practices.
Tyler is a health, fitness, and nutritional enthusiast, an endurance runner, a tai chi practitioner, father of two boys, one 80lb American Bully, husband, and friend to many in the community. Suffice to say he keeps busy!
